Passionflower is a hypnotic nervine, and one of my favorites for sleep support, spiraling thoughts, and even for children!

In many children’s focus blends that are directed towards children showing hyperactivity, passionflower is one of the main ingredients. This is because passionflower shows an affinity for “scattered” thinking. Whether this is scattered thoughts that never quite complete themselves, leading to an inability to focus, or scattered thoughts that keep being interrupted by the same intrusive thought, leading to hyperfocus, passionflower can be an ally!

While some use passionflower for its ability to relax the body and mind and may experience a sedative effect (which is why it is so powerful for sleep support), others with an overactive mind might actually find themselves feeling motivated, due to the fact that their brains need to be relaxed a bit in order to focus better and function optimally.

Passionflower is an antispasmodic, so it can help with mild muscular pain, whether it is leg spasms preventing you from dropping into restful sleep (noticing a pattern here?), digestive cramping, or menstrual cramps, passionflower may be an unexpected ally for pain. Passionflower also demonstrates an affinity for nerve pain, which isn’t a surprise due to its relaxing effect the nervous system, and has been used to help with pain from nerve conditions such as shingles, sciatica, and more.

I find passionflower to be effective for those who tend to have a tendency to lean towards the “flight” response when in sympathetic overdrive—constantly rushed, jumping from one thing to another, no focus, etc.

Ingredients: Passionflower aerial parts (leaf and flower), GF Vodka.

Our Practices

Regenerative: Regenerative practices in herbal skincare emphasize sustainability and biodiversity, using organically grown, wildcrafted, and ethically harvested plants. These methods support soil regeneration, reduce carbon footprints, and foster a balanced ecosystem. By maintaining minimal processing, regenerative practices ensure the plants' natural benefits for healthier skin and a healthier planet.

Fresh Plant: Fresh plant extractions ensure the highest potency and effectiveness by capturing the plant's active constituents at their peak. This method preserves the natural integrity and full spectrum of the plant’s beneficial compounds. Using fresh plants results in more vibrant, bioavailable, and efficacious herbal products.

Small Batch: Creating in small batches ensure meticulous attention to detail and quality control, ultimately resulting in superior products. These methods allow for careful selection and processing of herbs, maximizing their potency and effectiveness. By producing in smaller quantities, artisans can maintain the highest standards, ensuring each tincture is crafted with precision and care.
